ORDERING A COMMISSION

To order a commissioned portrait requires only four steps:

  1. Contact me regarding wanting to book a commission. We can then hash out what size, multiple pets vs one, if you want any prints or other items organised with the final image (see https://jamiewillisart.com/product-category/printsgifts/ – for ideas and price range)
  2. I will refer to my calendar as to when a commission slot is available. Upon confirmation of a slot being available a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your slot. A picture of the subject is required at this stage, in order to provide the best reference image I ask that the picture is clear, not grainy; the subject’s face isn’t obscured, cut-off or blurry.
  3. The waiting game until your slot becomes available, at which time I will email you with updates as to progress. When completed you will be notified and when the package is sent you will receive another notification with tracking information.
  4. I would love to see the artwork in its final stage – if you are wanting to share.

SHIPPING:

New Zealand commissions and prints shipping rates are $15 NZ wide. All portraits are shipped with standard postage which includes a tracking number. Rural delivery is an additional $5.

Australian shipping rates for commissions and prints are a flat rate of $39.00.

International shipping for commissions and prints is a flat rate of $69. This is uninsured, if you wish to have the artwork insured then please contact me.

All drawings are shipped either flat packed and supported by cardboard and bubble wrap or gently rolled into a solid tube to ensure it doesn’t get folded or damaged on its way to you.

If the packaging arrives damaged in any way please take a picture prior to opening just in case the content is also damaged – especially if you are an overseas customer and purchased insurance.

FAQ

How do I book a commission?

To book a commission please use the contact form above to start the process.

Any questions regarding commissions or questions in general that aren’t answered here, please use the above contact form.

What is the cost for a commission?

There are multiple factors which dictate cost. Mainly size and subject matter, to keep things simple I offer A4 or A3 – and these range from $200-$500. It is best to use the contact form above and inquire.

How long does it take to do a commission?

It usually takes about 2-3 weeks. There is a waiting list however, so when you book a commission it is not necessarily going to be done in 2-3 weeks from the date you booked, it will depend on where on the waiting list your spot is.

For example:

If you made contact and ask for a spot and the day is the 20th, but I give you the slot of the week of the 6th the following month – then the two weeks is from that date.

Would you do a painted commission?

I would not rule this out. However, there would be greater costs involved in doing this as they are more time consuming and require materials that are more costly.
